Alnoor University holds an educational week in the field of drug prevention

In line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Yassin Taha Al-Hajjar, President of Alnoor University, the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, in cooperation with the Human Rights Division, launched on the morning of Sunday, 16/11/2025, the activities of the special Anti-Drug Week, distributing its program over five days

The events began with a speech by the university president, in which he emphasized the importance of spreading a culture of drug prevention and raising awareness of its dangers among students and the community. This was followed by a speech delivered by Assistant Lecturer Qaidar Ahmed Mahmoud, Head of the Human Rights Division, who stressed the necessity of enhancing young people’s awareness of the dangers of drugs and the ways to prevent them.

Afterwards, the first research session was held under the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Hussam Zidan Shukr, and it witnessed the presentation of three scientific lectures that covered various topics in the field of drug control

The opening session was attended by Professor Dr. Ismail Abdel Wahab, Scientific Assistant to the University President, in addition to the deans of the Colleges of Education, Law, Political Science, and Administrative Technologies, as well as the University's Scientific Advisor The activities of the Anti-Drug Week will continue for five days until Thursday, 20/11/2025, with the participation of 27 researchers from Alnoor University, universities in Nineveh Governorate, and relevant departments, during which 13 lectures will be delivered and 7 educational workshops will be held, in addition to an awareness poster exhibition.
